Cloud Operations Engineer

We are seeking a skilled CloudOps Engineer with strong AWS expertise to support and operate highly available, secure, and scalable cloud environments. This is a hands-on technical role focused on day-to-day cloud operations, automation, monitoring, and incident response.


You will work closely with Leads, SREs, DevOps, and Security teams to ensure 24/7 operational excellence across AWS environments. You will help implement automated guardrails, drive observability and remediation, and continuously improve the reliability, security, and cost efficiency of cloud platforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end CloudOps services, including incident management, AWS support, maintenance, and disaster recovery.

  • Operate and support AWS environments to ensure high availability, performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Participate in 24×7 on-call rotations, incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA).

  • Provide customer support for AWS configurations, integrations, and operational requests.

  • Support governance across multi-account AWS environments, ensuring security, compliance, and operational best practices.

  • Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions.

  • Develop automation and event-driven remediation using AWS-native services such as Lambda.

  • Reduce operational toil through automation, tooling, and standardisation.

  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Architecture, and Engineering teams to resolve issues and improve cloud operations.

  • Support SLAs, SLOs, error budgets, and key operational KPIs.

  • Maintain run books, SOPs, and operational documentation.

  • Align daily operations with SRE and DevOps best practices in a global CloudOps model.



Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • 3–6 years of hands-on experience operating and supporting AWS cloud environments.

  • 1-2 years of experience working in a Linux and Windows environment.

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including: 

    • EC2, CloudWatch, S3, Lambda, ECS, VPC, EBS

    • Monitoring System Experience: DataDog, New Relic, Prometheus

    • Containerization technology ( K8s / EKS / Docker )

    • Scripting: Bash / Python

    • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)

  • Solid understanding of AWS security, networking, and identity/access management

  • Hands-on experience with automation, scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices

  • AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, DevOps Engineer)

  • Experience in troubleshooting production incidents in distributed systems

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in on-call rotational environments.

  • Passionate about working in a customer-focused environment.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

  • Exposure to SRE practices, reliability engineering, or platform engineering

  • Familiarity with cost optimization, performance tuning, and observability platforms
